First day cover for the $9.35 Eagle and Moon stamp (Scott 1909), issued August 12, 1983, at Kennedy Space Center, Florida, principally for Express Mail Next Day Service on items up to two pounds. Young & Rubicam designed the stamp from separate NASA moon and Tom McHugh eagle photographs; it was sold in booklet panes of three. Gerry Adlman's GAMM cachet moves from day to night beneath a flying jet and identifies the two-pound rate and Booklet 3.
